When people, children, teenagers use lies they always have their reasons that are to escape from lies, punishment, avoid responsibility. But people who suffer from this disease usually don't have such reasons.
People sick with mythomania don't want to get any profits but they often destroy their good reputation because of their necessity to lie. To lie well and not to be caught lying, it is necessary to have good memory. And people who suffer from this mania are not interested in the desire to make others believe them but are interested in the process of lying and this process brings them extreme pleasure and delight.
There were investigations held according to which women give the untrue information more often than men. And when men lie they usually have the aim. And to find out the origins of such pathological lie it is necessary to turn to childhood.
Such inclinations start to demonstrate in the early childhood when the mythomania starts to form. The problem is that nature gave children very vivid imagination. And it is very easy for a little child to mix reality with fantasy. If to consider the fact that children also watch thousands of cartoons where reality is mixed with fantasy, then it becomes natural and understandable that children start to make up the stories. And with time this pathological problem turns into disease and becomes even worse in adult life.
