Too clever mania - Bibliomania

"Oh my God, there are so many books, and the list of books that are released is huge and is increasing every year. Oh and I have forgotten about books for children. And it is also necessary to systematize all of them." – this is the reaction of the person sick with bibliomania that is reflected in the extreme desire to collect all kinds of books.
The majority of people who read these words will be irritated. After all what is bad in the desire to collect and read books? Well, there is nothing bad in it except that people who suffer from bibliomania don't really read these books and don't even appreciate their value as the cultural value of these books is simply ignored.
Sometimes bibliomania is reflected in the desire to collect only rare and historically precious books.
Nevertheless bibliomaniac doesn't buy everything he/she seas and has his/her criteria on the books choosing. For example, they may collect only those books that are decorated in the certain way, or books that were edited in the certain publishing house, or books edited during the certain period of history, etc. Sometimes bibliomaniacs are so interested in certain books that they start even to steal some of them. In such way it is connected with bibliokleptomania a lot that is the pathological desire to books stealing. And library is the perfect place for it.
The opposite notion to bibliomania is bibliophobia that is the hater and the fear of books.
