To steal and to steal – Kleptomania

Kleptomania is psychiatric disorder that is manifested in the extreme desire to steal that can't be controlled. Kleptomania has become very popular nowadays but in reality it is very rare. The problem is that criminals use this disease to avoid punishment for their deeds. And sometimes it is very complicated to tell kleptomaniac from the real criminal.
But the real difference is that criminal is interested in the result while kleptomaniac is interested in the process of stealing. And almost all kleptomaniacs don't want to recognise their addiction to steal as well as the majority of people who suffer from manias and addictions.
When kleptomaniac steals something he/she feels pleasure and delights after which the serious and deep feeling of guilt comes. Sometimes it is so strong that people start to put the stolen things back.
The social life of kleptomaniacs becomes awful as they have no sphere of human activity to use it. For example, pyromaniacs can become firemen thanks to their fascination with fire. But kleptomaniacs can nothing but ruin their reputation. Kleptomaniac never has the aim to steal something. He/she usually steals unnecessary and useless things but they want the process that gives them the necessary doze of adrenaline and satisfaction.
The extreme form of kleptomania is stealing from friends that is accompanied with the feeling of guilt too. So kleptomaniacs suffer from social irritation too.
